Step into the heartbeat of Chicago’s electronic music legacy with 30 Years of Ghetto House, a landmark event from Dance Mania Legends in collaboration with Viva Acid. Originating in late 1980s Chicago, ghetto house evolved as a minimal, high-energy subgenre that pushed dancers and producers to the edge. Dance Mania Records became a central force, often described as the Motown of the genre for its enduring influence on ghetto house, juke, and related scenes. This April 12, 2025 show at Avondale Music Hall is a celebration of three decades of innovative and boundary-pushing music, featuring a lineup inspired by the Dance Mania and juke/footwork communities. Secure your seats for a night of raw rhythms, ruthless bass, and Chicago’s renowned club culture.
