3ICE is a professional three-on-three ice hockey league founded by E.J. Johnston. The league debuted in 2022 and has since aimed to deliver fast-paced, fan-friendly hockey with a unique format that emphasizes speed and skill. The 2024 season was canceled, with plans announced for a 2025 return on a single-site, five-week schedule in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, culminating in the Patrick Cup Championship, named after Craig Patrick, a Hockey Hall of Famer and the league’s commissioner.
The 2025 season will feature games at the Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Each game adheres to the league’s distinctive format: two 8-minute halves, six players per team on the ice at a time, penalties lead to penalty shots, and there are no powerplays or replay reviews.
