A Xmas Cuento Remix is a movement-driven, bilingual musical theatre piece that blends remixed Spanish and English Christmas songs with contemporary aesthetics. The production centers on Maya Malan-Gonzalez’s playwrighting and performance, with composition and arrangement by Emiliano Valdez and Daniel Valdez, under the direction of Holly Holsinger in the Cleveland production. The project emerged from NNPN's Rolling World Premiere in 2019, a collaborative effort among Milagro (Portland), 16th Street Theater (Berwyn), and Cleveland Public Theatre (Cleveland). The show has deep roots in Texas, Portland, and Chicago, with archival ties to the original cast and crew. In late 2024, Teatro Audaz San Antonio staged a Texas premiere at The Little Carver Theater, signaling ongoing regional interest in this distinctive blend of Latinx storytelling and modern remix culture.
