Absent Elk is a British-Norwegian pop-rock act formed in 2008, fronted by Kjetil Mørland. Early in their career, they attracted attention from Sony Music and gained exposure touring the UK, including joining Girls Aloud on the Out of Control Tour in spring 2009. The band is notable for its cross-Atlantic collaboration and for linking the careers of Mørland and Debrah Scarlett, who later represented Norway in Eurovision 2015 with the song "A Monster Like Me". While public activity on Absent Elk has not been ongoing in recent years, the project remains a key part of the members’ musical journeys and a reference point for fans of late-2000s pop-rock.
