Acid Mothers Temple is a sprawling Japanese psychedelic collective formed in 1995 by Makoto Kawabata. Known for immersive, cosmic soundscapes that blend psychedelic rock, space rock, drone, and experimental textures with Krautrock and Indian influences, AMT has grown into a loose constellation of projects and collaborations. From the early landmark AMT & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. to expansive offshoots like AMT & The Cosmic Inferno, Acid Mothers Gong, and AMT SWR, the group has earned international recognition for pushing the boundaries of improvised music.
