Action Songs/Protest Dances Tickets

Action Songs/Protest Dances is a compelling live music and dance collaboration conceived, directed, and choreographed by Edisa Weeks of DELIRIOUS Dances. This project began as the inaugural offering of Queens College’s Kupferberg Arts Incubator, with a world premiere staged at LeFrak Concert Hall on November 12–13, 2022. The production fuses newly commissioned songs with dynamic movement to explore civil rights-era figures and contemporary social justice issues, inviting audiences to reflect, participate, and engage with history through art.

Originally featuring commissioned songs from Taína Asili, Spirit Paris McIntyre, and Martha Redbone, the show centers on bold storytelling through a live music and dance experience. Plans to broaden the scope—potentially adding a full choir by 2026—signal continued growth and a deeper sonic landscape for audiences in New York City and beyond.
