Ades' Dante is a major ballet score by the contemporary composer Thomas Adès, conceived in three parts and inspired by Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. Premiered in London as The Dante Project at the Royal Opera House in 2021, the work blends orchestral intensity with Adès's signature lyrical language. The premiere audio recording, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel with the LA Philharmonic, released in 2023 on Nonesuch, earned the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Orchestral Performance. This page celebrates Adès' Dante as a living performance entity: the composer’s ongoing artistic thread, a distinguished discography as a performer, and a robust 2025 tour itinerary across Europe and the United States featuring works from The Dante Project and related pieces such as Aquifer, Inferno Suite, and Les baricades mystérieuses.
