The African World Festival (AWF) is more than a concert lineup—it's a multidimensional celebration rooted in African and African American heritage. Organized annually by The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, AWF showcases traditional and contemporary music, dance, storytelling, visual arts, food, and a bustling vendor marketplace. In 2025, The Wright Museum celebrated its 60th anniversary, underscoring a long-standing commitment to culture, community, and education. AWF gathers audiences from Detroit and beyond, with attendance typically exceeding 20,000 attendees over the festival weekend.
