After Dinner Mints was a Christchurch-based lounge project fronted by Celia Mancini, also known as Celia Black. Though short-lived, the band left a lasting imprint on New Zealand's underground scene. With Mancini at the helm, the group fused intimate vocal melodies with laid-back, jazzy lounge textures that resonated with local audiences. The project is most widely documented through The Celia Mancini Tapes (2018, Leap Decade Records), a compilation that includes the track Sunny, originally performed by The After Dinner Mints. Mancini’s passing in September 2017, followed by the losses of other key members in 2018–2019, effectively closed the chapter on the band. This page gathers what we know about the artist, the discography attached to The Celia Mancini Tapes, and the archival footprint that fans and researchers can explore today.
