Ahleuchatistas burst onto the North Carolina music scene in 2002, formed in Asheville by Shane Perlowin (guitar), Derek Poteat (bass), and Sean Dail (drums). Over the years, the lineup evolved into a dramatic, largely duo-driven project featuring Shane Parish, Trevor Dunn, and Danny Piechocki for performances and press materials. The band is renowned for tightly composed, pan-tonal poly-metric pieces that weave jazz, minimalism, ambient textures, Chinese music influences, and progressive rock into a cohesive, exploratory sound.
