Since 1926, the Akron Pops Orchestra has been a cornerstone of Akron's cultural fabric. Founded as the Akron Doctor’s Orchestra and renamed in 1986, this volunteer-driven ensemble brings together roughly 55 musicians from the Greater Akron area. Under the leadership of Music Director/Conductor Victor T. Anstine since 2022, the group blends classical masterworks, show tunes, film scores, marches, and more into engaging, accessible concerts for community members of all ages.
