Based in Akron, Ohio, Akron Roller Derby (AKRD) emerged in 2016 from the merger of NEO Roller Derby and Rubber City Roller Girls. Operating under the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), AKRD features three distinct teams—All Stars, AkRowdys, and Alignments—that skate by the league’s rules and showcase fast-paced, strategic roller derby across the Midwest. The home venue for most bouts is Summit County Fairgrounds in Tallmadge, OH, a hub for community events and high-energy bouts.

AKRD’s All Stars represent the league’s premier skaters, competing at a high level within the NA Northeast region. In 2025, the All Stars reached a historic high of 31st in April and sit at 41st in the regional rankings as of the latest season. The team, along with the AkRowdys and Alignments, delivers action-packed home and away bouts that draw crowds from Akron, Summit County, and beyond.
