Al Doyle, born Alexander John Joseph Doyle on August 28, 1980 in Leeds, England, is a renowned guitarist and synthesiser innovator in the electronic and indie scenes. A long-time member of Hot Chip since 2003, Doyle has also contributed to LCD Soundsystem live and in studio work, and helped found the project New Build. His work spans indietronica, alternative dance, electropop, and dance-punk, blending melodic hooks with machine-driven energy. Whether on stage with Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, or New Build, Doyle delivers tight performances that fuse electronic textures with rock-inspired sensibilities.
