Alan Ferber is a Grammy-nominated trombonist, composer, and arranger whose work blends traditional jazz with intricate modern textures. A longtime NYC educator, he teaches at NYU Steinhardt and co-directs the BMI Jazz Composers Workshop. Ferber leads nonet and big-band projects that critics describe as old school and cutting edge. His career spans collaborations with Esperanza Spalding’s Radio Music Society, the Ted Nash Big Band, Miguel Zen�ns Identities Big Band, and a broad circle of contemporary jazz luminaries. Ferber’s compositions emphasize large-ensemble color, nuanced orchestration, and expressive storytelling.
