The Alberta Pandas women's basketball program is one of Canada’s storied college teams, competing in the Canada West conference and the U Sports national championships. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, the Pandas play their home games at the Saville Community Sports Centre (Competition Gym) and are guided by long-time head coach Howie Draper, who has steered the program to multiple CW titles since 1997–98. With a tradition of competitive excellence and a strong development pathway, the Pandas continue to be a staple of Canadian university basketball.

The Alberta Pandas boast a national championship in 1999 and have earned 15 Canada West titles, including the 2025 CW championship—the program’s 15th title and a return to prominence after the 2020 pause. Under Howie Draper’s leadership, the Pandas have consistently developed talent and competed at the highest level, including a strong finish at the 2025 U Sports Final Eight hosted in Vancouver where Alberta finished 6th as CW bronze medalists and host berth. For the 2025–26 season, the Pandas sit at 21-5 overall and 13-5 in CW play, with 6-2 record at home, primarily at Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton.
