Meet Alecstar, the enduring rock act born in 1978 from the remnants of Thrush. With early members including George Mahoney, Jack Murray, Dick Murphy, and Harold Mantor, Alecstar carved a path through the late 70s and 80s with a string of influential releases. Their self-titled LP Alecstar arrived in 1982 on Smart Alec Records, followed by a 1984 picture-disc release that kept fans buzzing. Over the years, reunions have yielded live albums and DVDs, culminating in Full Circle (2005). In 2025, Alecstar was inducted into the SAMMYs Hall of Fame, highlighted by a performance at the Palace Theatre.
