Alexander Katsman is a distinguished pianist, educator, and performer whose career blends European conservatory training with a dynamic American concert presence. As Music Director of the Livermore Valley Opera (LV Opera) and a faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) in Piano and Vocal Studies, Katsman brings a rigorous, expressive approach to performance and pedagogy. His education includes the M.M. from the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg and the B.M. from Mussorgsky College of Music, complemented by Merola Program alumni status. Katsman appears regularly in concerts, recitals, and opera productions across the Bay Area and beyond.

In addition to conducting and directing, Katsman’s keyboard artistry emphasizes lyrical insight, technical polish, and a collaborative spirit that enhances operatic and recital programs.
