Alvaro Salas is a celebrated Chilean comedian and performer known for his long-running presence on television and live stages. Born in Valparaíso in 1952, Salas helped shape modern Chilean humor with a blend of witty storytelling and musical whimsy. He co-founded the humor-musical group Pujillay and became a staple at Viña del Mar Festival, performing with the group in 1982, 1985, and 1990, followed by solo appearances in 2000 and 2007. His work extends beyond stand-up to comedy albums that fans cherish, including Tu humor benigno (1999). In 2022, Salas received the Premio Nacional de Humor from Universidad Diego Portales, recognizing his significant contribution to Chilean culture. Fans can look forward to his 2025 live tour with Dino Gordillo, including a May 3 show at the Monticello Gran Arena, with additional dates announced.
