Welcome to the Amarillo Sox performer page, your insider source for a complete look at a pivotal chapter in Amarillo, Texas baseball history. The franchise began as the Pensacola Pelicans before relocating to Amarillo and debuting as the Amarillo Sox in 2011. In a strategic rebrand, the team became the Amarillo Thunderheads on December 2, 2014. After the 2015 season, the Thunderheads merged with the Grand Prairie AirHogs/Texas AirHogs arrangement, and the Amarillo Sox/Thunderheads brand ceased in Amarillo. The home field for this era was Potter County Memorial Stadium, also known as Dilla Villa in earlier eras. While there’s no active Amarillo Sox team or 2025 schedule, fans can still connect with the franchise’s rich history and its influence on local baseball culture.
