America is a British-American folk-rock band formed in London in 1970 by Dewey Bunnell, Gerry Beckley, and Dan Peek. After Peek’s departure in 1977, Beckley and Bunnell continued as the core duo, carrying a legacy that blends harmonious storytelling with timeless melodies. The band captured the spotlight early in their career, winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1973, and later earned a place in the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (2006) along with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star (2012). In recent years, Gerry Beckley retired from touring in 2024, while Dewey Bunnell has kept the band on the road with ongoing touring schedules labeled as Encore Tour and Happy Trails Tour for 2025–2026. The 2025 Encore Tour began in Reading, PA on March 8 at Santander Performing Arts Center, with stops announced across several U.S. markets including Detroit, Providence, and Syracuse. Here, you’ll find a concise bio, discography highlights, and the latest tour dates so you can secure your seats with confidence.
