American Modern Ensemble Tickets

American Modern Ensemble (AME) is a New York City-based ensemble dedicated to performing and commissioning music by American living composers. Founded in 2005 by composer Robert Paterson (artistic director) and violinist Victoria Paterson (executive director), AME bridges contemporary creation with engaging concert experiences. The group operates with a flexible roster of performers, enabling collaborations that reflect the breadth of American modern music.

AME also pursues education and outreach, making new music accessible to diverse audiences while supporting composers through commissions and competitions. Their label, American Modern Recordings (AMR), has released acclaimed recordings that showcase contemporary American voices.

Upcoming AME activity includes a Mostly Modern Festival performance at the Arthur Zankel Music Center on June 7, 2025, followed by a MMF program around June 13, 2025. The ensemble is also engaged in a residency with Michigan State University for 2025–26. AME’s lineage includes notable achievements like the AME Composition Competition (2006–2017) and recognition for Robert Paterson as Composer of the Year by the Classical Recording Foundation (2011).
