American Music Masters originated in 1996 as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame initiative in Cleveland, designed to illuminate the legacy of a single inductee through a year-long (or week-long) program of exhibits, lectures, conferences, and a tribute concert. In 2019, the program was rebranded as Rock Hall Honors, continuing the same tribute-concert concept that honors the great American music lineage. While the initiative has historically been centered in Cleveland, with performances at notable venues like Severance Hall and Playhouse Square, the impact of American Music Masters resonates with fans worldwide through the Rock Hall’s official channels.
