An Iliad is a gripping one-person stage adaptation of Homer’s The Iliad, created by playwrights Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare and based on Robert Fagles’ renowned translation. The show runs about 90 minutes with no intermission, delivering a focused, intimate experience that brings the ancient epic to contemporary life. The production has earned top honors in the theatre world, including a 2012 Obie Award Special Citation and the 2012 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show. In some productions, audiences are treated to a live score by musicians such as Mark Bennett or Colin Holter, adding a lyrical, atmospheric layer to the storytelling.
