The musical character
Anders Beck is a cornerstone of modern bluegrass, known for his scorching dobro and melodic storytelling. Since joining Greensky Bluegrass in 2007 as the band’s dobro/resophonic guitar player, Beck has helped drive the group’s signature expansive sound and improvisational spark. Greensky Bluegrass captured the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition in 2006, a win that foreshadowed the genre-defining work the band would produce in the years to come.

Beck’s artistry extends beyond the live stage into studio projects and collaborative ventures. His discography highlights include Greensky Bluegrass albums that have pushed bluegrass into new sonic territory, such as All For Money (2019), which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Bluegrass Albums chart. In 2024–2025, Beck explored new textures with the Iceland Sessions (with Holly Bowling), a four-track EP recorded in Iceland and released via Thirty Tigers on Big Blue Zoo in May 2024, and he contributed to the 25th anniversary album XXV, released on October 31, 2025, featuring guests like Sam Bush, Billy Strings, and Lindsay Lou.
