Andres Diaz is one of today’s leading cellists, celebrated for his rich tone, masterful musicianship, and contributions as a performer, educator, and recording artist. A Naumburg International Cello Competition First Prize winner (1986), Diaz has built a renowned career across concert stages, university programs, and chamber music ensembles. He serves as a Professor of Cello at SMU Meadows School of the Arts and co-directs the Diaz Trio with notable colleagues Roberto Diaz and Andrés Cárdenes.
