Andrew Gourlay is a dynamic conductor and composer renowned for leadership roles with major ensembles and his distinctive, globally influenced musical voice. Born in Jamaica in 1982 and raised across the Bahamas, the Philippines, Japan, and the United Kingdom, Gourlay brings a cosmopolitan sensibility to his craft. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, the University of Manchester, and the Royal College of Music, where he refined a career that would see him win the First Prize at the Cadaqués International Conducting Competition in 2010. His work as an innovator and interpreter has earned praise from critics and audiences alike.
