Biography
Andy Kim was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew into a pivotal figure in 1960s and 1970s pop. An accomplished singer-songwriter and producer, his melodic sensibility helped shape the era’s sound. He’s been honored as an Officer of the Order of Canada (2023) for his contributions to Canadian music and culture, and he’s been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (2019). In addition to performer accolades, he’s a Songwriters Hall of Fame member and a contributor to the Billboard Hit Parade Hall of Fame. His international hits—"Rock Me Gently" and "Baby I Love You"—remain staples of classic pop radio, with long-lasting influence across North America and beyond. He also co-wrote The Archies’ iconic "Sugar Sugar", illustrating his versatility as both a performer and a songwriter.
