Angela Strehli, born November 22, 1945 in Lubbock, Texas, is widely celebrated as the Queen of Texas Blues. A foundational figure in the Austin blues scene, she co-founded Antone’s nightclub and helped launch Antone’s Records, shaping a lasting legacy in Texas and beyond. Her powerful vocal presence and soulful guitar work have earned her multiple Austin Chronicle Best Female Vocalist awards and a place in the Texas Music Hall of Fame.

Across a decades-spanning career, Strehli has released a string of influential albums, including her solo debut Soul Shake (1987), Dreams Come True (1990) with Lou Ann Barton and Marcia Ball, Blonde & Blue (1993), Deja Blue (1998), The Queen of Texas Blues (1998), Live from Rancho Nicasio (2001), Blue Highway (2005), Blues Broads (2012), and Ace of Blues (2022). Her latest work, Ace of Blues, marks a strong return to solo recording with production by her husband Bob Brown for Antone’s/New West Records.
