Born in San Francisco, Ankush Kumar Bahl pursued a double degree in music and rhetoric at UC Berkeley and earned a Master’s in Orchestral Conducting from the Manhattan School of Music. His career features multiple accolades, including four Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016) and the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Scholarship (Leipzig, 2009). The Grammy-nominated Sculptures project (2023) with Andy Akiho and the Omaha Symphony underscores his collaborative and innovative approach to modern repertoire.
