People behind the production
The Ann Arbor Concert Band is a storied Michigan ensemble founded in 1978 (originally the Ann Arbor Symphony Band). Renowned for its blend of traditional and contemporary band literature, the group performs four times per season from September through May, typically at the Michigan Theater and Hill Auditorium. Under the artistic direction of David A. Leach since fall 2022, the band continues a proud tradition of community engagement and musical excellence. The ensemble has supported the next generation of wind and percussion players through the Andrew J. Lum Young Artist Scholarship Fund, with recent winners including Salem Dinh (2025).
