Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker is one of the most influential figures in contemporary dance. Founder of the Brussels-based company Rosas in 1983, her early breakthroughs with works like Fase (1982) and Rosas danst Rosas (1983) helped redefine how movement, music, and space interact on stage. De Keersmaeker’s choreography is deeply musical, often emerging from collaborations with composers and musicians, including Steve Reich for Fase and explorations of Bach, Vivaldi, and other contemporary voices.
