Annual Summer Youth Arts Institute Tickets

The Annual Summer Youth Arts Institute is a cornerstone program rooted in The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) in Dallas. In collaboration with Dallas ISD Summer Enrichment Extended Learning, the institute brings together more than 400 talented youth, ages 10–18, to study Music, Dance, Theatre, Costume Design, Make-Up, Lighting, Stage Management, Photography, and Film/Video. This dynamic program culminates in a high-energy production that showcases the students’ growth and creativity.

Founded by Curtis King, a pivotal figure in Dallas arts who helped establish TBAAL, the organization continues to advance opportunities for young artists. In 2025, Curtis King received notable recognition with Tony Award honors announced during the year, underscoring the leadership and influence behind the program.
