Antigone Now is a dynamic theatrical experience built on Melissa Cooper's contemporary tragedy adaptation of Sophocles' classic. Debuting at the Dallas Theater Center in 2003, this production reimagines Antigone for modern audiences with a compact, punchy format that typically features 3–4 actors and an expandable chorus, presenting a complete story in roughly 60 minutes. Since its inception, Antigone Now has been licensed by Concord Theatricals, with the script readily available for licensing and production by theatres nationwide.
