Antonello Manacorda, born in 1970 in Turin, is a leading violinist-turned-conductor celebrated for his deep immersion in German repertoire and historically informed performance practice. A founding member and long-time concertmaster of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, he later transitioned to conducting, shaping programs at major venues worldwide.

From 2010 to the end of the 2024/25 season, Manacorda served as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Kammerakademie Potsdam, after which he became Honorary Conductor. His work with the Kammerakademie Potsdam has earned critical acclaim, including a complete Beethoven symphonies cycle released by Sony Classical (2024) with the ensemble, following notable releases of cycles from 2022 and 2023. Manacorda is known for his crisp, period-appropriate approach to the classic repertoire and his expressive leadership in opera and concert settings.

His artistry has been recognized with major awards including Echo Klassik (2015) for the Schubert cycle with Potsdam and OPUS Klassik (2022) for Mozart’s last symphonies, with the Beethoven cycle earning a Gramophone Editor’s Choice. 2025 concert plans include Pelléas et Mélisande at Paris Opera in March, a Valencia/ Castellón tour with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana in June, and a Salzburg Festival debut with Maria Stuarda in August.
