Biography in brief: Jason Ricci emerged as a Blues Music Award-winning harmonica virtuoso (Best Harmonica Player, 2010) and later claimed the SPAH Bernie Bray Harmonica Player of the Year (2017). As Approved By Snakes, his collaboration with The Bad Kind released in 2017 on EllerSoul Records, acclaimed for its expansive, moody gospel-blues explorations. 2023’s Behind the Veil marked Ricci’s Gulf Coast Records debut alongside Joe Krown, blending originals with thoughtful covers. The 2021 City Country City project paired Ricci with Joe Krown for a jazz-funk-infused blues experience with a New Orleans tilt. In 2025, Ricci & The Bad Kind are actively touring nationwide, bringing the live show to venues in MA, FL, IN, IL, OH, LA, and beyond.
