Biography and activity: Apsara formed in 2000 as a platform for exploring recorder repertoire through composition and collaboration. They’ve worked with notable composers like Matthew Shlomowitz and Jasper Vanpaemel, producing world premieres and innovative projects such as the 2021 video piece En attendant and the 2023 co-conceived Weird Light Music for three recorders and keyboardist Stéphane Ginsburgh in Ghent. In 2024, Carrier Records released Explorations in Polytonality and Other Musical Wonders, Volumes 2 & 4, a breakthrough collection that BBC broadcast and Carrier platforms highlighted. Looking ahead to 2025, Apsara has confirmed performances in Brussels (MIM Research Day on 27 November 2025) and additional engagements across Belgium and the Cambridge area in the UK.
