Area 4 Festival was a notable German electronic music festival operating from 2005 through 2012, organized by FKP Scorpio with local promoter Schoneberg involved in its early years. The event began at the König-Pilsener-Arena in Oberhausen in 2005, then moved to Flugplatz Borkenberge near Lüdinghausen starting in 2007. Across its run, the festival drew between 10,000 and 23,000 attendees, peaking in 2010 with about 23,000 fans. The 2011 edition introduced an app and a Green Camping option, underscoring an evolving approach to attendee experience.
