Ashley Slater's Freak Power blends funk, electronic textures, and witty storytelling, led by vocalist and frontman Ashley Slater. The project rose to prominence in the 1990s with a string of quirky singles and two notable albums, earning a dedicated fanbase in the UK and beyond. In 1995, the track Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out gained significant traction, helped along by its exposure in Levi’s Taxi campaigns, and reached No. 3 on re-release in the UK charts. Freak Power’s early works include Drive-Thru Booty (1994) and More of Everything for Everybody (1996), cementing their place in alternative funk history. In 2025, Freak Power continues to tour across Europe with shows planned in Prague and Plzeň, continuing the band's lively live tradition.
