Aswat, the solo project of Djazia Satour, sits at the crossroads of traditional Algerian roots and contemporary global sounds. Formerly collaborating with MIG and Gnawa Diffusion, Djazia crafts a distinctive storytelling voice in Arabic, weaving banjo and mandole textures with bendir percussion, and blending trip-hop and indie-pop sensibilities. With a career highlighted by a 2011 Fair laureate honor and a string of acclaimed albums, Aswat continues to push the boundaries of world fusion.
