Athens Dance FX is a cornerstone of Athens, Georgia’s dance community. Founded in 2000 by Danielle Mason Hosker and directed by Allison Hayn Smith since 2009, this nonprofit organization cultivates young talent and grown artists alike through five youth performance companies and thirteen adult companies. With a mission to bring compelling, accessible dance to audiences, Dance FX blends technical prowess with creative storytelling across multiple ensembles and styles. The company produces the annual DanceATHENS festival at the historic Morton Theatre, highlighting local and regional artists and contributing to Athens’ rich performing arts scene.
