Autorickshaw is a dynamic Indo-fusion ensemble formed in 2003 in Toronto, rooted in the world-tinged traditions of Indian classical music and expanded through collaborations with Western pop, jazz, and funk. The core lineup features Suba Sankaran on vocals, Ed Hanley on tabla, and Dylan Bell on bass and beatboxing, creating a live sound that blends intricate Carnatic and Hindustani textures with contemporary grooves and looping textures. Based in Toronto, Autorickshaw regularly performs at major Canadian venues and festival stages, weaving spellbinding compositions with improvisational flair.
