The Bach Society Of Minnesota is one of North America’s oldest Bach societies, founded in 1932 at the University of Minnesota. Under the artistic direction of Matthias Maute since 2016, the ensemble specializes in historically informed performance using period instruments. Their mission blends scholarly rigor with accessible programming, inviting audiences to experience Bach and Baroque music as it would have sounded in its own era. Based in Minneapolis–Saint Paul, they offer engaging concerts, community music-making, and outreach across Minnesota.
