Founded circa 1969–1970 at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Ballet Folklorico Aztlan de CSUN is among the oldest collegiate folklorico groups in California. The ensemble specializes in ballet folklórico, presenting regional dances from states such as Jalisco, Nuevo León, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, and Baja California.
