Ballet Northwest has been a cornerstone of Olympia’s performing arts scene since 1970, rooted in community and artistry. As Washington’s oldest ballet company, BNW performs classical and contemporary works anchored at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts. Led by Co-Artistic Directors Josie Johnson and Ken Johnson—ABT-certified teachers—the company also directs the Johansen Olympia Dance Center. BNW is dedicated to education and outreach, offering free in-school residencies and programs that distribute free tickets to underserved families.
