The live experience
What reaches the room
Since 1975, Bands of America (BOA) has grown from the Marching Bands of America founded by Larry McCormick to a nationwide field of competitive marching, concert, and auxiliary ensembles. In 1984 the organization rebranded as Bands of America and, after a 2006 merger, became part of Music for All. BOA’s flagship event, the Grand National Championships, draws tens of thousands of spectators to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis each year, while regional and super regional championships light up stages across the United States. The Bands of America Honor Band performed in the Rose Parade in 2026, showcasing top high school ensembles from across the country. BOA events attract hundreds of thousands of attendees annually, reflecting the reach and impact of this storied program.
