Beauty of Korea is a dynamic performer showcased by Oregon Korean Performing Arts (OKPA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to teaching and sharing Korean traditional arts. Led by director Ji Seung Hee, OKPA has brought traditional percussion and mask dance to over 300 NW community festivals since 2009. Beauty of Korea blends powerful rhythms on janggu, buk, and kwaenggwari with intricate talchum mask dance, delivering an authentic snapshot of Korea’s rich performing arts heritage.
