Beepfest is a name tied to the Beep Seals and a key piece of Manchester's psychedelic indie rock scene from the mid-2000s. The Beep Seals, a Manchester-based band active from 2006 to 2009, released their debut album Things That Roar in 2008 on Heron Recordings and put out singles in 2007 like Tell Your Friends / I Used to Work at the Zoo and Stars / Chariot Song. Beepfest events themselves became a hub for like-minded acts in the UK, with early lineups featuring notable acts such as Jim Noir and The Answering Machine at Deaf Institute in Manchester during 2008. A one-day festival format continued in 2009 in Glasgow, and Beep Seals’ final gig at Beepfest was reportedly canceled later that year. This page collects the Beepfest story, Beep Seals discography, and upcoming tour information so fans can secure their seats with ease.
