The Beijing Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYO) brings together approximately 130 young musicians to explore a balanced repertoire of Chinese and Western orchestral works. Co-launched in June 2024 by the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission (BMEC), BYO quickly established itself as a bridge between Chinese musical tradition and the Western symphonic canon. Under the baton of artistic director and conductor Lü Jia, BYO offers a platform for emerging talent to perform at major venues and share a fresh sound with audiences in Beijing and beyond.
