An Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient in 2013 and winner of prestigious competitions like the Michael Hill International Violin Competition (2007) and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions (2009), Hristova has established herself as a defining voice in contemporary and classic violin repertoire. She has also been a Laureate of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, reflecting a career built on technical mastery and expressive nuance.

Her work extends beyond performance into commissioning new music, with six living composers contributing new solo violin works to her repertoire, including Dai Wei, Gloria Kravchenko, Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Eunike Tanzil, Joan Tower, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.
