Benito Gonzalez is a revered figure in contemporary jazz piano, known for his lyrical touch, virtuosic technique, and leadership that brings a quartet or trio to vivid life. A two-time Grammy nominee, he spent seven years playing with Kenny Garrett and later served as pianist and musical director for Pharoah Sanders from 2019 onward. In 2005, Benito won the prestigious Great American Jazz Piano Competition, a milestone that solidified his place among the genre’s rising stars.
